The Beginning of Everything

We are the stuff that stars are made of.
We are fate's children, holding close
Belief.

We are like the universe
At its beginning,
At ours.
A slow, majestic coalescing of matter
Into brilliant suns and attendant planets,
Glowing, shimmering
In the very beginning of everything.

We are like the universe
At its beginning,
At ours.
The shy, hesitant very first words,
Gradually becoming suffused with passion,
Glowing, shimmering
In the very beginning of everything.

We are the stuff that stars are made of.
We are such brilliant lovers, holding close
Each other.
