Study After Velazquez's
Portrait Of Pope Innocent X
|
Knowledge
is ugly, is fraught
and fired in pain the iron-gray
solder-colour father uses, re-
pairing. The hot sharp snout
of the solder-gun is waiting
to blister what it touches.
i blame myself when i turn
away from his curled fingers,
his mouth. What kind of chafing
acolyte resists this papacy,
this essence spattered like semen or shit?
i want a picture of a stiller life.
